Calling all children and teens! Practice greater awareness in this practical, confidence-building self-defence series. Kids will learn how to read situations, manage body language, stay calm under pressure and respond more effectively in real-life scenarios.
A practice on mental resilience, smart choices and composure. They will also learn physical techniques as a last line of self-preservation, in a safe and carefully supervised environment.
Ages 6-11: 1pm-2pm

Instructor:
Sensei Phil Royannez is a martial arts instructor with over 45 years of practice and 30 years of teaching experience. A registered coach with Sport Singapore, he holds black belts in four martial arts disciplines and is known for his practical, science-based approach to self-defence. Phil also holds two Master’s degrees and a PhD in Physics and Electrical Engineering, applying principles of biomechanics to make his teaching both effective and accessible.

Self defence is 99.9% mental and 0.1% physical. It starts by avoiding places, people and context where confrontation may occur. If it does occur, first response must be avoiding escalation. In this class we will address all aspects and practices techniques to avoid physical violence. The second part of the class will however address various real-life situations and how to respond effectively in case of Grab, Punch, Hair pull, Choke, Kick, Kicked when on the floor, etc. The practice will be safe and properly supervised.
